1. Who We Are
Skyhouse Property Management Inc. operates the Skyhouse platform at skyhouse.ca. We provide property management services to landlords and rental search services to tenants across the Greater Toronto Area.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email, phone number, employment and income details (for tenant verification), government-issued ID (for identity verification), and property details (for landlords). We also collect information automatically through your use of our platform: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and usage patterns.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide property management and rental search services; to verify tenant identity, creditworthiness, and rental history; to communicate about listings, applications, and your account; to comply with Ontario's Residential Tenancies Act and related legal requirements; and to improve our platform and services.
4. Sharing Your Information
We share tenant verification results with participating landlords on our platform, as consented during the verification process. We do not sell personal information to third parties. We may share information with service providers who assist us in operating the platform (credit bureaus, email providers, cloud hosting) under strict confidentiality agreements.
5. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Tenant verification data is retained for two years from the date of verification. Landlord and property records are retained for seven years to comply with Ontario financial recordkeeping requirements.
6. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA and Ontario privacy law, you have the right to access your personal information, correct inaccuracies, withdraw consent for non-essential uses, and request deletion where legally permitted. Contact us at hello@skyhouse.ca to exercise these rights.
7. Security
We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized Skyhouse personnel on a need-to-know basis.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users and posted on this page with an updated date.
